Our Mission

All kids should feel welcome and supported in their musical journey, no matter what their experience level. Kids will be encouraged to try new instruments, to take solos during a jam and will learn standard jam etiquette.  We will focus on teaching kids to be kind and supportive of each other and to have fun playing music!

NOTE: Because this camp relies on students working hard together for the final campfire, we ask that all students who register commit to being at camp at least Friday morning THROUGH Saturday night's campfire.

Our Camp

Our dynamic programs include collaborative jamming sessions, workshops, and fun music-related activities designed for kids aged 6 to 16. Every child can explore their musical journey, no matter what their level of experience. In fact, no musical experience is necessary - all we ask is that students show a desire and interest in learning.

All students must have at least one parent/guardian present at the camp. Parents/guardians will be free to leave camp during the camp day to hike, bike or to explore nearby Bailey. We also encourage parents to bring their own musical instruments!

What is the camp like?

This is a privately owned beautiful old camp located outside Bailey, CO. It is imperative that we treat it with respect. NO open fires, but gas firepits will be allowed.  We will have dispersed camping with a few cabins to rent (see below). There are pit toilets and the lodge kitchen will be available for everyone's use. The lodge kitchen has a refrigerator, freezer, ovens, sinks, coffee makers and running water.  You will be expected to manage all your own cooking, trash, recycles, etc.  There is limited space for campers, so onsite camping will be limited to campers, immediate family members, and instructors and their families.

New this year: a few of the camp cabins will be available for rental for $100 per night (60% off). Please visit the Camp Rosalie website (https://www.camprosalie.net/cabin-rentals) and enter the code JamCamp to receive the discount.

FAQ's

Do I Need My Own Instrument?

Each student SHOULD have their own primary instrument, but we  encourage all families to bring as many instruments as they are able, including those to be shared with other students. The goal is to make it easy for all students to try something new. We will have a system at camp registration to ensure all instruments are clearly labelled with name and whether or not they can be shared with others.

Who are the Instructors?

Those helping run the camp are being carefully selected for their ability to be supportive and encouraging in a jam, as well as for their musical expertise. Specific instructors will be announced as the date gets closer. We plan to have 2 instructors per instrument, so that students who have never played before will be able to have some instruction.

Also we have increased the number of junior instructors at this years camp! But we would love to have more!
